OUR BACKSTORY
Booklight was born out of a dinner conversation, where hardworking, talented filmmakers sat together to share their set horror stories, (all while passing around a literal light shaped as a book). And sadly, every day these types of stories are becoming all too common in the industry. While these anecdotes can be a good laugh with the right company, they should not be the norm.
We seek to be a different production house, one that prioritizes the well-being of its crew. Our mission is to foster a culture of care and respect, ensuring that those who bring stories to life are given the support and working conditions they deserve. We aim to be a production house that not only tells relatable, compelling stories for audiences, but also cultivates a positive and collaborative environment for the creative teams that brings them to life.

Producer / AD / Director
Cami Olses
A Venezuelan filmmaker who attended NYU Film, Cami Olses works as a producer and Assistant Director, participating on both independent short form productions as well as episodic and features with companies such as A24 and Apple Studios. She also has experience as a Script Supervisor and Art/Camera Assistant, allowing her to fully understand the inner workings of making a film.
Ana Juanola
Producer
Ana Juanola is a Mexican filmmaker and producer telling empowering stories from unexpected places. She brings her strong sense of justice and her eye for culturally relevant stories to the short films, music videos, and commercials she has produced across New York and Mexico.
